Hello
My name is Becky. I am passionate about teaching and learning. I love to harness the power of the 4 C's to make learning rigorous, meaningful and fun. I am currently a K-8 Instructional Coach in Southern Oregon.
My Story
I decided I wanted to become a teacher when I was in middle school. Once the decision was made, there was no looking back. I completed my high school internship in a 3rd grade classroom and for my senior project I organized a family reading night for a local elementary school. I attended Southern Oregon University and earned my bachelors majoring in education and minoring in early childhood development and sociology. For my capstone, I rewrote and taught an outdated social emotional curriculum in for K, 1, 2, and 5 classrooms in the school district I was hired in a year later. I completed my one year masters program in 2016, and got my first job teaching 4th grade at a K-6 elementary school. After teaching fourth grade for two years, I moved to teach sixth grade for three. The summer after my 5th year of teaching I was hired as a K-8 instructional coach in my school district.

My husband is also a teacher, and teaches 5th grade in a district nearby. His parents are both teachers as is his brother, so I guess you could say it runs in the family. When we aren't working, we enjoy traveling, hiking, photography, and playing with our dog, Molly.
